The Obama administration took a peculiar stance on Egypt and the so-called ‘Arab Spring’. It called for the ouster of President Mubarek, and then abdicated its responsibility to what happened next.

Egypt is now again in the throes of upheaval and the Obama administration is oddly quiet, providing no substantive leadership.

Many have questioned what has happened in Egypt, in such short order, and wonder aloud about what the Presidents opinions may be on the situation.

A powerful blog was posted explaining in detail what happened, using America as the descriptive template.

It is beyond eye-opening and should stir concern amongst the American electorate as to why it has not heard about what has lead to Egypt’s’ current crisis.

It is a clarion call for defenders of freedom the world over.

A lot of my dear American friends sill ask me what on earth really happened in Egypt, for their benefit, and anyone else on earth genuinely trying to make heads or tails of us "crazy Egyptians" ; here's exactly what happened in egypt over the past 12 months, but expressed in 'American" terms...

There are no exaggerations or lies, these events all took place:

On June 30th 2012, democratically elected Barack Obama wins the election with 51.7%, takes the oath, and is sworn in as president of the United States.

First five months of his term go relatively smoothly, where he makes almost no decisions (except for some dubious presidential pardons to a dozen convicted terrorists, including some convicted for their part in the assassination of a former US President).

Suddenly, on November 21st 2012, president Obama issues a presidential decree giving himself sweeping powers, to the extent that his future decrees become un-contestable in any court, in effect his decisions henceforth are akin to the word of God.

His laws a new Bible...

Nationwide protests erupt as a result of this decree and 1.5 million people organize a sit-in at the White House to peacefully request he rescind it.

Some of Obama's democratic party supporters attack the peaceful sit-in outside the White House with guns & shoot 5 peaceful protesters dead

A few weeks later president Obama dissolves the US Supreme Court and labels them all "traitors to America"

One short week later, he fires the United States District Attorney and personally appoints a Democrat to replace him.

A month later he annuls the US Constitution and forms a 'constitutional committee' to draft a new constitution (committee includes no Republicans or Independents, no Moslems or Jews, and only a handful of women.. And is composed primarily of Democrats & religious preachers)

In a referendum not supervised by any judicial branch, this constitution narrowly wins, and President Obama ratifies it the very next morning (despite it having only gotten the approval of 18% of all Americans).

Within a month he invites top global terrorists, known jihadists and Al Qaeda members from all over the world, to a rally in Yankee stadium, where he cuts ties with and declares war on, Canada.

Throughout this whole time, the US economy is sinking, the stock market collapsing, foreign investment has all but stopped, tourism has died, and electricity, fuel, and water shortages are a daily occurrence.

Unemployment has almost doubled, and the US$ dollar has lost 20% of its value globally.

Oh, and president Obama also outlines his new plans to lease the entire Silicon Valley area to China for 50 years (with full administrative control)...

Democratically elected president Barack Obama has done all the above in his FIRST YEAR IN OFFICE!!!

Ultimately, on June 30th, 2013...

110 million Americans take to the streets in 50 States peacefully and politely demanding -for 4 straight days- that democratically elected Obama leave immediately, and not continue his remaining 3 years....

That's it in a nutshell

Who would you say had "legitimacy" in this case if it had been America?

"Democratically elected Barrack Obama", or the 110 million Americans who fired him ... ?"

The single greatest fighting force for freedom in the history of the planet is the United States military. It is the defender of democracy, an example of a free people willing to give their all to defend liberty.

It must never be used as a chip in an inane political argument on foreign policy.

Yet that is exactly what is happening in the debate on what the United States should do with respect to the ongoing civil war and accompanying atrocities in Syria.

Our elected are playing fast and loose with both history and the truth, hoping to garner short term political advantage when they discuss the options available, from the absurdity of President Obamas’ ‘red line’ comments, to Senator McCain’s urging for military intervention.

It is obvious that there is a human tragedy unfolding at the hands of a sadistic dictator, a man willing to sacrifice his people in horrific ways in an effort to maintain his control over the nation.

It may be the most glaring current example of a people in distress, but it is not the only one.

The United States is not the world’s policeman –we should not and must not impose our views of political governance on the world.

We can lead by example, demonstrating that self rule democracy is the optimal way for a society to grow and flourish but once we become the arbiters of other nations form of government by injecting the United States military into any given conflict we are continuing down the road to our ruin.

It is not an issue of isolationism; that is impossible in the interconnected world in which we live.

It is an issue that our military is a defensive organization: if the United States is attacked, we will surely unleash the powerful swift sword to the aggressor and vanquish them in short order.

The idea that somehow America should send troops to intervene in struggles around the world should be anathema to this nation. We lead by example, not by coercion.

For any who might demand that we cannot sit ‘idly’ by while Syria continues to spiral downward, the question then becomes given the scope of the American military’s abilities, why do we not simply put into place worldwide democratic self-rule? The power of our armed forces far surpasses any other in the world, so could we not impose planetary peace by sheer force?

There would be no need for a United Nations, an organization currently so inept at anything it boggles the mind.

Specifically as to Syria, where exactly is the unified outrage in the United Nations, voices condemning the actions of the Assad government and calling for United Nations forces to intervene?

The military of this nation was conceived to be under civilian leadership precisely to keep it as a defensive organization, not as an offensive tool for societal dominance of this or any other sovereign nation.

Once America heeds the ignorant calls for intervention in places such as Syria we will cease to be a beacon of hope and transform ourselves into yet another empire doomed to fall under its own hubris into the forgotten passages of time.

The United States of America is not an occupying force.

There is unimaginable pain in the world. We will best serve those who suffer by remaining true to our Constitution, to preserving the belief that freedom is the true solution to the woes of our world.

Teddy & Woodrow Had it Right

“in order to form a more perfect union…”

The accepted maxim amongst responsible politicians and other such elected officials once held that commentary or criticism of this nation’s foreign policy ended at the shoreline. Critique abroad of an American administration could not be seen or interpreted as being a nation divided as such perceived division could be manipulated by our adversaries; abroad, we were all Americans and spoke with one voice. The internet has rendered that stance unrealistic, as any speech or Twitter/Facebook post is automatically transported around the world and filtered back to us with any manner of interpretation.

The issue today is given that media and world interconnectivity reality, exactly what should our national policy be and how should we present our united version of democracy abroad?

History has presented us with what should be the over-arching policy and presentation standards.

President Theodore Roosevelt received the Nobel Peace Prize for his use of American standing and status in the pursuit of peace. He brought together Russia & Japan to resolve their war and utilized the bully pulpit of American democracy to bring about a peaceful resolution to their conflict. He did not posture to resolve the dispute by demanding an American accepted resolution. He did not attempt to overlay American political sensibilities to the combatants. He did not seek to impose American democratic values upon either party, but rather through skillful negotiations brought about the realities of peace to both sides. There is a lesson to be learned regarding our recent attempts to prescribe preconditions to those attempting to resolve the decades old peace process for the middle east. We should not try to force American reasoning on two socities that do not share our understanding of their realities.

President Woodrow Wilson, having led America through the first world war had hoped to bring to fruition his League of Nations, the precursor to the United Nations. He understood that there was indeed strength in numbers and that the peaceful nations of the world could, if united, thwart the possibility of another world war by demonstrating mutual resolve to peace. Herein lies another lesson in geopolitics to be gleaned by our administration with respect to recent events in Egypt & Libya. We cannot use our bully pulpit to try and enforce our governmental choices on peoples who have not experienced such freedoms. They must first witness it in action by the free countries of the world in unity and then choose their own path forward. It is folly to believe that democratic self-rule can be achieved merely because we wish to impose it.

We have lost that perspective as of late. It appears that American administrations have begun to opt to deal with world crises by attempting to impose American democratic sensibilities upon nations and peoples who have no real understanding of a working democracy. Many societies are based upon different criteria that do not hold that all men are created equal.

We as a nation need to demonstrate our freedom, our American democracy by example, not by well intentioned fiat or edict.
