The Answers Are In The Constitution

The cure for the evils of democracy is more democracy!

H. L. Mencken, Notes on Democracy, 1926

The Madison Conservative is making a public appeal to the nation for somebody to hand the leader of the free world a copy of the United States Constitution, the august document he has sworn, on multiple occasions for multiple public offices, to preserve, protect and defend. His actions and language of late leaves America with only two distinct choices:

1 – The Coward-in-Chief has no comprehension of our governing document, the rules by which we live,

OR

2 – He is so consumed with hatred of the country that he just doesn’t give a damn.

There is no other option from which to choose.

Biden’s incoherent ramblings are focused on recent Supreme Court decisions. The imbecilic political left have reacted with calls to pack the court with sufficient like-minded idiots so that they can claim victory for their goals.

Joe Biden has encouraged this bile.

We ask you to consider the following.

The founders and framers intentionally created three EQUAL branches of government, partially as a safeguard against what the political left is attempting. Joe has called the Court ‘extreme’ in recent days. The Roe decision returned the decision on abortion to the people to decide. On one hand, he decries the fact that “nine unelected people in black robes should not have the power to make decisions about choice”.

When the court agrees and returns power to the people where it had always belonged, he whines they have taken away a constitutional right.

The man is unhinged.

We understand that to discuss this completely, we would need hours of your time to go point by point to highlight just how outright stupid is Biden and his political cronies.

We can, however, clarify just how ignorant Biden can be while shouting and whispering.

The President is claiming that the Supreme Court has taken away the constitutional right of privacy. He is warning of impending armageddon to democracy. Actually, given his assault upon the first, second and tenth amendments, it is the left who seems intent  on subjugating the American people to a life under tyrannical rule.

But we digress.

If the dumbest man in government had a copy of the Constitution handy, he might actually stumble across the fourth amendment, which provides for the right to privacy to the citizens of America.

Consider its language, in total:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

(forgive the observation, but the ability of the founders and framers to write clearly and crisply to convey their intentions is an ongoing admiration society within The Madison Conservative.)

So the question needs to be asked. Why exactly  is the leader of the executive branch trying to slander an equal member of the government. He is clearly lying, knowingly, when he makes the wild claim that the court is overturning the right of privacy.

Neither answer is acceptable.

He is either evil or an idiot.

The American people can tolerate incompetence in the short term. Biden will long be in the dust-bins of history, but his legacy is clear. He is EXACTLY why the framers wrote the Constitution as they did. Too bad Joe has not read it lately.

Biden and his ilk will never be successful in the long term.

The United States Constitution proves it.

A Supreme Reality Check

The cure for the evils of democracy is more democracy!

H. L. Mencken, Notes on Democracy, 1926

This has been a glorious week for America, the principles of democracy upon which she was founded, and the brilliance of the United States Constitution. The political left has lied and vowed violence because they did not get their way. The Madison Conservative is not insensitive to the politics of the issues, but we choose to avoid engaging in a point by point deconstruction of the left’s attempts to use hatred and anger in pursuit of their goals. The left supports those who seem to believe that attacking facilities that help pregnant women to be a fair response to their frustrations. Maxine Waters, a sitting member of Congress has opted to declare that the Supreme Court can go to hell. There is no point in attempting to reason with such idiocy and evil. When a nation is in turmoil, it looks to its leaders for a calm and measured response, Sadly, America has the coward-in-chief Biden at the helm, doing nothing but adding ignorant gas to the imbecilic fire.

Because the erratic and hateful left, along with their sycophantic stenographic media, are smearing America with wild abandon, we believe it best to provide thumbnail clarifications on exactly what the Supreme Court has done in defense of the Constitution.

THE NEW YORK GUN LAW -  The Supreme Court has simply said that New York cannot add an arbitrary level of application. You could submit an application, including a background check, and if you were approved, you would then need to explain why you wanted to carry your weapon outside. The state would then decide if THEY felt your reason passed THEIR opinion. Justice Thomas correctly pointed out that the Second Amendment is not a second class right. You have a right to defend yourself. The Court ruled that if you pass your application check, you have the right to carry the weapon on your person. That’s it. They have NOT ruled ‘guns for everybody’. They have put the responsibility for guns squarely where it belongs, with our elected officials. They now have to do their job. Their vitriol indicates they like the perks of elected office, but would prefer to avoid the responsibilities.

THE ROE OVERTURN -  This decision was inevitable. A few quick clarifications.

Roe v. Wade was NEVER a law. It was a decision in a case decided by the Supreme Court. It would be of great help if the loudest voices on the left would take a basic course in civics. The Judicial Branch DOES NOT MAKE LAW. That responsibility lies solely with the Legislative branch. If the left is so apoplectic about Roe, why in 50 years have they never adopted legislation making it a law?

Simple.

They know America would never support unlimited abortion on demand. They have hidden behind Roe to deflect from their accountability.

It seems to be a Democratic Party trend.

In their decision, all the court did was to return the decision on abortion back to the electorate, where it belongs. The 1973 decision created a ‘right’ to abortion out of their imagination. No legal scholar has ever argued that Roe was a firm legal decision. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was on record questioning the process  of creating the decision.

The Supreme Court has NOT outlawed abortion in America. It HAS removed it from the courts and put it in the hands of the American people.

The Supreme Court this week has proven the wisdom of the founders. The Constitution is a guide to how the federal government must operate. The 10th Amendment clearly states that any rights not entrusted to the federal government are the responsibility of the states, thus the people.

The Constitution has worked.

Again.

Please remember that this upcoming July 4th weekend.

It’s your birthright. Never consider handing your rights over to embarrassments like Joe Biden and his ilk.

The responsibility is yours.

Suicide

The cure for the evils of democracy is more democracy!

H. L. Mencken, Notes on Democracy, 1926

There is an epidemic sweeping across America. It transcends politics, economics or any other group classification of the citizenry.

It is affecting our strongest and bravest warriors. It is forcing us to lose the most defenseless amongst us. It can take your colleagues, your neighbors, or even those closest to you.

This scourge is suicide.

There are those who are much wiser than The Madison Conservative on this topic and  who have studied this alarming trend. They have found various and sundry reasons to explain the causes of this phenomenon.

There are debates on many national policies sweeping across America these days.

One issue glaringly absent is a discussion on mental health. The stigma of declaring one may have mental health issues still carries with it the stigma and shame of being a social outcast. Such ignorance can no longer be tolerated.

With Memorial Day fast approaching, it seems more than appropriate to shine a light on suicide running through our veteran community. As we have noted, there are many causes for the problem, but addressing those realities takes time, and that is one luxury we cannot afford. We do not have the expertise or experience to promote rapid solutions, but we do have a very strong request.

Many people who are falling into the well of despair and emotional pain that is the precursor to suicide often need someone to simply listen. Listening without looking to respond is one of the hardest characteristics to demonstrate to someone who is looking for a good ear.

No one can ever truly know another’s internal thought processes, so trying to commiserate is an exercise in futility.

Please understand that it is agreed that the human condition almost mandates we try to find something comforting to say to anyone who just needs to talk. But then it’s about you, not them.

As the holiday weekend nears, please find some time, maybe an hour a week, to reach out to a veteran and let them you’re up for listening, and then do just that. It may take some time. But being consistent can demonstrate your seriousness. If not a veteran, then maybe somebody else you may feel is in need of talking. Life is such a precious and unique gift, consider the state of mind of someone willing to end it.

As we noted above, this epidemic attacks our strongest and our brvest. Please try to make an effort and let them know that asking for help, letting them talk or vent, has no correlation to weakness. In fact, the mere act of asking for any type of support shows much more strength and bravery than any battlefield courage.

We are in no way advocating that your listening is a replacement for sound medical intervention.

All we are asking is that for this coming Memorial Day weekend, give our veterans an hour. They willingly put their lives at risk to help protect and serve this nation on your behalf.

Surely the least one should do is to take time to listen.

Let us do our best to lose no more warriors to suicide.

Memorial Day is to honor our fallen. Perhaps the best way to demonstrate that their sacrifice was not in vais is to support the brothers and sisters they left behind.

The Primary Fraud

The cure for the evils of democracy is more democracy!

H. L. Mencken, Notes on Democracy, 1926

The primary season is now upon an already suffering electorate. The Madison Conservative must again stride atop our soapbox to remind America they are being made fools. The cowardly Democratic, Republican, and any other political party continue their assault upon the United States Constitution.

Consider their ongoing blatant lies.

The popular belief is that we are ‘a two-party government’. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Constitution has no provision for political parties. It sets forth Election Day, but that is where it ends.

Inept politicians have successfully put in place mechanisms to present the illusion that primaries are a part of the American electoral system.

That is a total fraud. A primary is nothing more than a PRIVATE ORGANIZATION deciding what name will appear on the Election Day ballot. All the more galling is the American taxpayer is given the bill for their farcical indulgences. We are not saying a political party should not have a primary, but if they so feel the need, to do it on their own nickel. They are NOT government, despite decades of propaganda trying to have citizens believe otherwise. The stenographic, sycophantic media are willing accomplices. They cover the results as if they had any significance. They don’t. All that happens is that America is fed a slew of lies by an unqualified idiot.

We believe passionately in the American franchise of voting. We would ask you to consider opting out of a parody and vote in the local school board election. It will have greater impact than helping liars to continue their assault on American democracy.

At least that’s our vote.

Treason

The cure for the evils of democracy is more democracy!

H. L. Mencken, Notes on Democracy, 1926

The political class, for the most part, and the mass media, also for the most part, are amongst the ineptest and intellectually challenged members of American society. Their single-minded focus on achieving and maintaining power is anathema to the American spirit, not to mention wildly unconstitutional.

The Madison Conservative understands that we are not trailblazing any new horizons with that statement.

We are concerned with the dangerous use of language that the aforementioned individuals spew with no real understanding of what they are actually saying.

To wit:

Having worn out the terms of ‘racist’, sexist’ ‘transphobic’ and ‘Nazi’, the newest attempt to smear anyone who does not follow leftist ideology is to label them as a ‘traitor’, or being ‘treasonous.’

Treason is the crime specifically noted in the Constitution that upon a finding of guilt can carry with it the penalty of death. The January 6th commission is not permitted to question Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, to whom the security of the Capitol is entrusted. That does not prohibit them from declaring however that they have ‘smoking gun’ evidence that President Trump is guilty of treason. One wonders what method of execution they might consider. Naturally, such a charge would have to be proven, but that uncomfortable reality does not preclude the mantra that “Trump is a Traitor!”

As an aside, which American president demonstrated cowardice in the face of the enemy and abandoned American citizens behind enemy lines? That strikes us as a more significant issue to address.

We neither support nor discard fellow citizens like Tucker Carlson of Fox News, or former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. The political left and their sycophantic media stenographers however have labeled both as traitors.

We have had the Madison Conservative research team scour through their public, televised comments.

All they have asked is what is the national interest in engaging with Ukraine against Russia and Putin.

When and where the topic is war, it is the obligation of the citizenry to question the actions of those in authority. In fact, doing so is the definition  of American democracy, for the voices of the governed to rise up and demand answers.

Carlson and Gabbard, are in fact, and in the highest traditions, American patriots. Agree or disagree with them, when is the act of asking questions an act that carries the penalty of death?

This weekend – 4/24/22/- Senator Elizabeth Warren issued  a proclamation that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was ‘a liar and a traitor’ for his involvement with President Trump and the January 6th protests. (it was NOT an insurrection).

Senator Warren calling another politician a liar  is delightfully ridiculous on its own. She has, like every other member of the Democratic party, failed to explain why Rep. McCarthy needs to be put to death.

The Madison Conservative, like most every other person in this country, can easily provide politicians with other language instead of using ‘traitor’, or ‘treason’.

For ourselves, we prefer to label the elected class as mostly scoundrels. We believe it conveys our disgust and disdain without the need to build gallows on the national mall.

A Supreme Question

The cure for the evils of democracy is more democracy!

H. L. Mencken, Notes on Democracy, 1926

The founders and the framers continue to demonstrate their insight into the creation of their experiment in self-government and the rules by which the nation would function.

They created three equal branches of the United States government - the Executive, the Legislative, and the Judiciary. Their plan worked along the lines that if the executive – the President, or Legislative – the Congress, tried to pull a political power coup, the Judiciary – the Supreme Court – would be the deciding vote  and referee in all governmental branch disputes.

Until the last decade or so, the structure worked as intended. The political left has been trying to pervert the process in far too many ways as of late.

To wit:

When the left tries to pull a constitutional fast one, they seem confident that the liberal justices are rubber stamp votes for creating legislation from the bench, in violation of the Constitution. The corrupt media then begin the onslaught of wondering which of the conservative jurists will exhibit ‘bravery’ and vote with the liberals.

We find it amusing and terrifying that there is never a question of any liberal jurist demonstrating similar bravery and voting with the conservatives. Among the political idio-crats, bravery only works one way.

The Constitution provides for a lifetime appointment. This has had the occasional series of complaints throughout our history, but nothing of consequence.

In the last few years, the imbeciles of the political extreme left, in the face of Supreme Court losses, have not only demanded term limits for jurists, but to pack the court with a sufficient number of liberal jurists to overcome the current conservative majority.

They apparently no longer believe in bravery and have decided to instead count on strength in numbers. We have written previously how in the ruling on Covid mandates, each of the three liberal Supreme Court judges got major facts on the case wildly wrong, and instead voted along political policy lines. In the scheme to subvert the Constitution, they are attempting to impune the historical impartiality og the Court, trying to create it in their own warped image.

America deserves better than a funhouse mirror image of justice.

This week, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will begin her Senate confirmation hearings. Some have attempted to claim she would be the most significant apppointment since John Marshall. Other will claim she must not be allowed in traffic court, let alone the highest court in the land.

We will not engage in such political sport.

Joe Biden has already diminished her by stating he would appoint a woman of color to the bench. No matter her qualifications, she will be forever tarnished with the epithet she was picked solely for her gender and skin pigment attributes.

The Madison Conservative will ignore all of the political noise and focus on a single question, which we believe, would set the predicate for the rest of her hearing.

A single interrogative that to our knowledge has never been asked of a Supreme Court nominee.

The Supreme Court decides issues of constitutionality, if any law or act is allowed under our founding document.

We have our own opinions on the answer, but will wait until after the hearings to discuss it in this forum.

We would ask our readers to consider the question, decide their answer, and see if their elected representative gets with a country mile of asking it for the constituents.

To wit:

“Madame Justice,

You will be deciding issues relative to the United Stses Constitution.

In your legal opinion, to whom does the Constitution apply? Do its rights extend to people who broke our laws to enter the country? There are numerous issues affecting this country. Who do you see having a legitimate claim to the rights and responsibilities of the Constitution?”

We would be fascinated with her response.
